Cooperating with Other Organizations to Encourage HIBAR Research Projects

The HRA is a small organization, and it cooperates with other related organizations to expand its reach and achieve its objectives. The “Cooperating with others” CAG leads collaborative efforts between the HRA and related organizations by identifying key partners and developing the relationships needed to build mutually-beneficial partnerships.

Participants in this CAG have co-organized a variety of events with organizations whose goals are synergistic with those of the HRA, and have participated in various activities aimed at increasing engagement between universities and society. Some examples include:

  • Co-hosting a workshop with the National Academy of Inventors (NAI);
  • Co-hosting a webinar with the National Academies’ Government-University-Industry-Philanthropy Research Roundtable (GUIPRR);
  • Participating in a panel discussion organized by the Council of Graduate Schools (CGS);
  • Highlighting a key initiative of the Association of Public and Land Grant Universities (APLU)

Key ongoing activities of the CAG are aimed at developing collaborative relationships with key allied stakeholder organizations, including:

  • Highlighting actionable resources developed by allied organizations;
  • Convening HRA community discussions to facilitate cross-organizational collaboration on key topics, such as sustaining strong cross-sectoral partnerships and enabling more graduate students to participate in HIBAR projects.
  • Interacting with funders, and actively supporting their efforts to create more HIBAR-focused funding opportunities.
